Today I'm a Tease

I couldn't resist. I had to post this before we left for the weekend. This is a closeup of part of the most recent quiltlet. The knitted border? Toast! It was a dumb idea anyway! But this yummy little seed pod of happiness? Fun, fun, fun.

Spectacular! More more more. Are you sure the knitted border isn't working? What size is it? You should enter it into Fine Focus.

It's wonderful!!! I love the organic shapes - as you might have guessed by looking at my journal. Somehow the idea of sewing down all those little seed-beads just makes my hands hurt, but then I've got a few years on you! I wonder if I could GLUE (heaven forbid!!! That's probably against some quilter's book of rules!!!) down little beadlets rather than sewing each + every one of them in place...

PS I love your quilting, too!

I like this piece a lot... It's organic... it's watery... it's got rocks on it..

perfection.

Wonderful!! I agree with Pat - I love the beading look, but it is very difficult for me to accomplish. I really can't do much hand work - except I will not give up knitting. Show us more!! By the way, I think a knitted border could work if you faced it with something like an iron on interfacing like lingerie interfacing that would stabilize it.

Superb! Very pleasing, makes me want to see more! The seedpod looks like an underwater organic entity to me, especially with that green bead as its focal point.

I have a bobbin's worth of single ply handspun pure raw silk that could be knitted into a lacy 'froth' not only for a possible border, but also possibly for accents of 3D wispy bits of seafoam. It could be dyed to suit ... want it? Still have some unspun silk rovings, as well. Love the bubble stitch with the calm water quilting as contrast--very soothing after the busy bubbles and beads.

I love this piece. The beads are wonderful and just right. Remind me of pebbles still wet and washed by the sea and caught up in a rock pool. Lovely! Val
